Staff Review: The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection by Alexander McCall Smith

Series lovers: At last! We meet Clovis Anderson, author of Mma Ramotswe’s manual for private detection. The traditional, intertwining, three mysteries are well-chosen and develop nicely, although the solutions may not surprise anyone. The regular characters show some development in this novel, and their inner dialogues are very satisfying, according to their different personalities. An utterly hilarious courtroom scene, an uncharacteristically subdued Mma Potokwane, and developments along the talking shoe storyline add up to a rewarding evening with our friends in Botswana.
