Just watched Jiro, Dream of Sushi, this past weekend and loved it! This 2011 documentary is about Jiro Ono, an 85 year old Japanese sushi master, and his never-ending quest for perfection in the art of sushi-making.
Jiro owns an unassuming 10 person restaurant in the Tokyo subway that has been deemed by Anthony Bourdain, Joël Robuchon, and other top chefs as the best place to have sushi in the world. The restaurant has also been awarded the coveted 3 stars by Michelin! Jiro’s unparalleled work ethic, family dynamics, and beautiful cinematography make this quiet film a winner.
